“Anyone can do it, all you need is style” rings all the more true when it’s apparent anyone could make a song about a fish - but possibly only The Chemical Brothers could avoid making it completely ridiculous. Hip-Hop musician Fatlip provides the vocals for the song, rapping about a new dance before becoming involved in a conversation with “Sammy the salmon” discussing the facts of being a salmon fish. 'The Salmon Dance' does sound a bit too simple and the possible ironic intention fails to completely overshadow the fact that it’s basically a novelty record. A good one, though.
Released 10/09/07 on Virgin Records.
