More The Rolling Stones
Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger's son, James, is to appear in a film about the life of composer Vivaldi.
Jagger will play one of the composer's pupils, Alessandro Grimani, in Vivaldi – The Red Priest, his first major film role.
The 23-year-old, who studied acting in Cambridge, told the Daily Mail that he wanted to earn notoriety away from the pressure of his father's spotlight.
"In the past few years, where I've had directors give me the hairy eyeball, I've had my confidence knocked,” he said.
"I am trying to pay my dues - you have to earn respect in this industry.”
Mick Jagger's acting career stalled after his appearances in the films Ned Kelly and Performance were slammed by critics.
Vivaldi - The Red Priest is due to be released next March.
