More Amy Winehouse
More Bestival
A number of festival goers at last weekend's Bestival on the Isle of Wight walked out on Amy Winehouse's headline performance, it's emerged.
The singer, who was making her final appearance of 2008, had been one of the festival's biggest draws.
But she arrived 45 minutes late for her set, forcing organisers to cut the singer's set list.
Speaking to Festivalwise, one fan, Kirsty, who had waited patiently for Winehouse's performance called it a “terrible, total waste of time”.
“Her arriving nearly an hour late was an insult to the fans, she could barely speak let alone sing......left after 10 minutes to go to see bands that still care,” she added.
N was also unimpressed. “It was a pretty horrific sight to see - a shaking, fragile wreck of a talent,” they wrote.
“She could barely project any of the first two songs - we walked out in the end, as we couldn't cope with witnessing such a car crash. Tragic.”
Winehouse's father, Mitch, said earlier this year that his daughter's set at the festival would be her last appearance until she had finished recording her as-yet-untitled third album.
