More The Beatles
More Led Zeppelin
Jimi Hendrix's Fender Stratocaster, which he famously torched on stage in London, has fetched £280,000 at auction.
Hendrix torched the guitar, which had been expected to raise £500,000, during his gig in Finsbury Park in 1967.
The guitar formed part of an extensive auction of rock'n'roll memorabilia, which also included a drum kit belonging to the late Led Zeppelin sticksman John Bonham.
The first Beatles first management contract, signed by the whole group, was the second most popular item, raising £240,000.
The auction at London's Idea Generation Gallery also saw the sale of the only remaining fingerprints of Elvis Presley.
