V Festival Fans Furious After Tickets Fail To Show

Secondary ticket agency faces investigation...

A ticket agency is facing investigation after customers who bought tickets for last weekend's V Festival failed to receive their purchase.

Hundreds of music fans used SOS Master Tickets, a secondary market company, to buy weekend passes to the festival, which took place in Chelmsford and Staffordshire.

After their tickets failed to arrive a week before the festival, they were told to meet representatives of the company at both festival sites.

But the representatives failed to show, leaving crowds of people without tickets and out of pocket.

Graham Burns, chairman of the Association of Secondary Ticket Agencies, told the BBC that  “the fallout has been quite spectacular."

SOS Master Tickets website is no longer online, and the company's phone lines are all dead.

The company, operates out of an address in Islington, North London, now faces investigation from Trading Standards.

  • I was conned by this SOS Masterticket, My sister purchased two reading festival tickets for me and my fiancee on her credit card which we paid back to her, we didn’t receive the tickets by Monday and tried the number which was dead and the website was no longer available. Not being able to go is devestating!! The risk of this happening would be less if touts were unable to puchase all the tickets, we would then have a better chance of getting tickets at face value from legitamate sites

      • I purchased a ticket in April for Reading Festival and had doubts about them in May after reading the forums. I emailed the company questioning them and they replied the next day telling me my tickets were ’100% guarenteed to arrive 2 - 3 weeks before the event’’. I also spoke to them on the phone. After reasurring me they have now let me down and i am furious that my fears in May turned out to be correct. I hope that the peope responsible are caught.

        • I fell for it too after panicking when I realised that I hadn’t bought enough tickets off the official sites in March. Luckily I sussed the scam before I travelled and was able to buy two genuine tickets via Scarlet Mist from a girl who didn’’t need them (bless you Susan for saving my life!), assuming that Jay wouldn’’t show up at Weston Park (as indeed he didn’’t). I expect my credit card company will refund me the money. Use
