The sun is finally out and for us Brits that can only mean one thing – time for a trip to the seaside. What a coincidence then that Festivalwise will be doing just that this coming weekend as we pack our bucket and spade for our trip to The Great Escape in Brighton. We do so this year with added verve and our host head on as 2008 will see Festivalwise take over a stage at the festival for the very first time.
Starting on Thursday (May 15) and running until Saturday (May 17), The Great Escape is now in its third year and has expanded to take in over 200 bands playing in 25 different venues across Brighton. Add to take a plethora of fringe and daytime shows, after parties and outdoor gigs and you have an extravaganza of new music all within walking distance of town’s famous sea front.
Festivalwise will be taking over the basement of the Ocean Rooms (see map) for all three nights and what a line up we have for you. With the likes of Hot Club de Paris, The Whip and This City headlining plus an undercard featuring Ladyhawke, The Satin Peaches, The Lionheart Brothers and more its certain to be packed to the rafters.
The full line up and stage times are:
Thursday May 15
