The media watchdog Ofcom has reprimanded the BBC for broadcasting swearing during last year’s Live Earth concert at Wembley Stadium.
The watchdog acted following 22 complaints from viewers about language that was broadcast before the 9 o’clock watershed.
Ofcom acknowledged that the BBC had broadcast what it called “the most offensive language” and has asked the corporation to broadcast a summary of the findings on BBC1 and BBC2.
Last year’s Live Earth at Wembley Stadium featured performances from Madonna, Foo Fighters and Spinal Tap.
The concert was one of a twenty-four hour marathon of concerts held across the world to acknowledge the growing problem of climate change.
