Hinterland (UK)

Glasgow will be playing host to the first ever Hinterland in April 2009.

A brand new music and arts event for 10,000 music fans over two days, at a dozen venues, with one all access ticket.

Glasgow has just been named a UNESCO City Of Music and we're not surprised...

The city is breeding brilliant bands like there's no tomorrow, just think Franz Ferdinand, Mylo, Belle & Sebastian, Biffy Clyro, Glasvegas, The Fratellis, Mogwai, Primal Scream, Snow Patrol, Mother & The Addicts and Shitdisco and we're just getting started...

With some help from our esteemed committee we will be showcasing the best bands Scotland has to offer and providing a platform for UK and international artists to show Glasgow what they've got in return.

The Hinterland Committee will consist of doers and innovators, those passionate about new music, labels, DJs, national and local promoters, art collectives, student bodies and tastemakers from local and national print and online media, radio and TV.
