The Wickerman Festival (UK)

Details: The Wickerman at East Kirkcarswell, Dundrennan, was established in 2002, and is Scotland’s Alternative Music Festival.

The concept of the festival came from the 1973 film 'The Wicker Man', which was shot in Galloway.

With its roots in cult music and cinema, the festival focuses on a mix of fun, fire and freedom, with the highlight being the burning of a 25 foot Wickerman on Saturday midnight - a climax that no other festival can match!

There are two main stages plus a world music tent, scooter zone, psy trance area, a reggae sound system, acoustic village, children’s area, trade stands, workshops, beer tent, cafes, crafts and camping.
